With Nordic Sleep’s outdoor pillows, you no longer have to worry about carrying your cushions in and out every time it rains or as the day comes to an end. The covers are made from water‑repellent materials, allowing raindrops to naturally run off the surface.

This means the pillows dry quickly when the sun comes out again. And thanks to their high colour fastness, you can be confident that sunlight won’t cause the colours to fade over time.

Use the pillows to style your outdoor spaces in different ways. For example, you can match them with your garden or lounge furniture - either by choosing the same colour or by mixing and matching the beautiful shades.

You can also use the pillows as seat cushions or as back support for your outdoor furniture. The inner cushion is filled with our unique blend of 60% Fossflakes and 40% polyester fibre balls, ensuring stable, ergonomic support. This allows you to sit back and relax while enjoying a cup of coffee, a glass of rosé in the sunshine and good company.

Can the outdoor pillow be washed?
Yes. You can easily wash your outdoor pillows in the washing machine. Both the inner pillow and the outdoor pillow cover should be washed at a maximum of 40°C.
Avoid using fabric softener and enzyme‑based detergents when washing Nordic Sleep products, as these may reduce the performance of the filling.
The products are not suitable for high heat, so we recommend air‑drying both the pillow and the cover.
If the pillow is not dirty but has lost some of its natural volume, we recommend simply fluffing it up to quickly restore the properties of the filling.

Will the outdoor pillow fade in the sun?
No. Our outdoor pillows are designed to resist fading in sunlight.
The fabric has high colour fastness, as the yarn used is dyed all the way through. This makes the pillows less sensitive to sun exposure and helps them retain their colour over time.

Is the outdoor pillow waterproof?
Our outdoor cushions are not waterproof, but they are water-repellent.

What does it mean that the outdoor pillows are water‑repellent?
The cover is made from a hydrophobic material that does not absorb moisture. Water, stains and dirt remain on the surface and simply repel off the fabric instead of soaking in.

Will the outdoor pillow develop mould?
No. The outdoor pillow is water‑ and dirt‑repellent, which means it does not develop mould and performs well in both sun and rain.

Do I need to bring the outdoor pillows inside when it rains?
No, it is not necessary to bring your Nordic Sleep outdoor pillows indoors when it rains. They are designed to withstand changing summer weather, so you don’t need to worry about rain or sun damaging your pillows.
However, in harsh weather conditions, we recommend bringing the pillows indoors.

Is PFAS used to make the outdoor pillows water‑repellent?
Some of our outdoor pillows contain a very small amount of PFAS, which provides the water‑ and dirt‑repellent properties. The amount is so low that it is practically unmeasurable, and the textile is certified according to OEKO‑TEX® Standard 100, Class 1. This means that direct contact with the skin is safe for human health - even for babies.
