FAQ
– What is the filling?
The Nordic Sleep by Fossflakes filling is a blend of unique Fossflakes (polyethylene flakes) and soft polyester ball fibres, which give the pillow a number of quite exceptional properties. The blend ensures that the pillow is comfortable and retains its fullness and volume for longer.

– What is the fill power?
Fill power is a measurement used exclusively for down duvets. It refers to the air content within a down duvet and thus its insulating ability and breathability, as well as its resilience – that is, its ability to spring back after compression. Although Nordic Sleep by Fossflakes products do not carry a fill power rating, a parallel can nonetheless be drawn, as Fossflakes is a loose filling material much like down.
This means that a cavity is created in which air can circulate around your body, moisture can evaporate, and your body can more easily regulate its temperature automatically, allowing you to enjoy a well-deserved night's sleep without interruption. The air circulation also contributes to washability, shortens drying time, and gives Nordic Sleep by Fossflakes products excellent volume and a longer lifespan.
This is what makes the Fossflakes filling truly unique and sets it apart from other fibres in the fibre category.
– How do I care for the product?
All Nordic Sleep by Fossflakes products are easy to maintain and shake back into shape. They can be machine washed at a maximum of 60°C and tumble dried at a low heat of maximum 60°C. When tumble drying, remember to remove your Nordic Sleep by Fossflakes products from the drum as soon as the drying cycle is complete.
Please note: Can be tumble dried on a wool or silk programme. Do not expose to high heat. If you are unsure whether your machine can maintain the correct temperatures, leave your pillow to air dry instead.
– Which duvet is right for my needs?
We have chosen to name our duvets after the seasons, but there are many factors beyond temperature alone that determine which duvet suits you best. These may include room temperature, body temperature, clothing, and so on.
As a general rule, we recommend our Spring and Autumn duvets as all-year-round duvets. The Autumn duvet is a good all-year-round option for those who tend to feel a little cold at night. The Spring duvet is a good all-year-round option for those who often feel warm at night.
If you are unsure which duvet is right for your particular needs, you are welcome to read our duvet guide, or feel free to contact us for advice and guidance.
– Which pregnancy pillows are suited to different sleeping and sitting positions?
We have a wide range of support pillows that can be used during pregnancy. Which pillow suits you best is very much a personal matter. However, our Comfort-U is by far the most popular pregnancy pillow, as its shape and filling allow you to mould it to your own body, adapting it to your needs and preferences – whether you are sleeping or simply sitting.
