The path towards better products and packaging
Our products are made from cotton, polyester and polyethylene. Together with our packaging, these materials represent Nordic Sleep by Fossflakes’ greatest challenges in our sustainability efforts.
That’s why it’s essential for us to reduce the environmental impact of our products – while ensuring they continue to keep you warm, comfortable and to last for many years.
What we focus on
- Reducing the overall environmental footprint of our products by exploring new possibilities – from alternative materials to new business models.
- Identifying solutions that support the most sustainable end‑of‑life options for our products, primarily in collaboration with our key retail partner
- Rethinking our packaging solutions to reduce material use and make it easier for our customers to choose more sustainable options.tigt.
Our goals for 2024
- To launch a strong range of new products based on more sustainable raw materials, while preserving the well‑known Nordic Sleep by Fossflakes benefits.
- To ensure the lowest CO2 footprint within our product category – and to be able to document it.
-
To offer customers thoughtful and flexible packaging solutions, without the use of fossil fuels.
Fossflakes Sustainability Report 2024
What we achieved in 2023
- We stopped sourcing conventional cotton and now use Better Cotton™ exclusively. Better Cotton farmers are trained to use less water and fertiliser, as well as fewer synthetic pesticides.
-
We completed the first full life cycle assessment of our products, which now serves as the foundation for our future environmental improvements.
