The path towards more sustainable sleep

We have worked systematically with sustainability since 2021. When you choose Nordic Sleep by Fossflakes, you support our ongoing transition towards materials and production methods with a lower environmental impact, ethical conduct throughout our supply chain, and a safe and attractive workplace for our employees.

Below, you can explore some of the key highlights of our progress so far.

Environmental progress

1. Better Cotton: The transition to Better Cotton reduces the use of water, synthetic pesticides and fertilisers.

2. 100% renewable energy: Our factory is powered exclusively by wind energy.

3. 25% less heating: Since 2021, we have reduced our consumption of natural gas.

4. Only 1.5% waste: A total of 98.5% of the materials we purchase end up in finished products.

5. New life for all waste: We recycle 59% of our waste. The remaining 41% is used for energy recovery.

6. 94% sea transport: Almost all materials are transported by sea, the mode with the lowest climate impact.

7. No tumble drying required: All our products can be air‑dried, helping you save energy and reduce costs at home.

Social and ethical progress

1. Safe products: All products are Oeko‑Tex certified and safe for human health.

2. 100% free from animal‑based materials: All products are made without the use of materials derived from animals.

3. Satisfied employees: Employee surveys show a high level of workplace satisfaction at Nordic Sleep by Fossflakes.

4. 9% inclusive employment: We employ people with a wide range of abilities and backgrounds.

5. 25% more training: The level of employee training has increased by 25% compared to 2022.

6. Health coverage for all employees: All employees are covered by an extended health insurance scheme.

7. 100% supplier compliance: All cotton suppliers comply with BSCI standards for fair and ethical working conditions.
