Taking the dog to work: The businessman
The collaboration between the two Danish companies Siccaro and Fossflakes has resulted in the ultimate dog bed, and as part of this innovation we’ve visited various workplaces where dogs are warmly welcomed.

The practical benefits
Christian Rasmussen is the owner and CEO of AltaPay, a payment service provider that has a partnership with Danske Bank, among others. He is also a hunter and therefore the owner of three beautiful hunting dogs. Two Labradors, Sally and Penny, and a cocker spaniel, Holly, who faithfully accompany him throughout the day – even in the office.
Bringing dogs into the workplace really started because it was the most practical thing to do. When Christian left the office to go hunting or vice versa, it was just easier to already have the dogs by his side. As they are obedient hunting dogs, the introduction of these four-legged friends went smoothly and generally the dogs stay inside Christian's office.
"Having the dogs with me at work makes my everyday life simpler, as it's easier to organize my day without leaving the dogs alone too much. Otherwise I have to go home and pick them up before hunting.” – Christian Rasmussen.

An obedient and trained dog is a big advantage
But even though Sally, Penny and Holly spend most of their time at Christian’s home, they are allowed to come to the office from time to time to say hello.
"Everyone in the office enjoys the dogs. There's something joyful about seeing the dogs and being able to greet them. They are always very happy and they quickly learn who is interested in them and who is not." – Christian Rasmussen
However, they are not allowed to walk around the office alone without Christian's permission, and the kitchen is strictly off-limits. None of the employees have allergies or a history of dog allergies, but the fact they are hunting dogs, and therefore well-trained, obedient and clearly under control, provides extra reassurance.
This is also Christian's main advice to others who are considering bringing their dog to work.
"Make sure you train the dog before you bring it to work so it doesn't cause too much disruption in the workplace. Teach your dog that there are limits to what it can and cannot do." – Christian Rasmussen
When dogs are brought to work, sometimes even directly after hunting, they can bring in both dirt and water. However, Christian has an easy solution for that.
“If my dogs are wet or dirty, I leave them in the car on the drying mat until they’re dry. It doesn’t take long. But with this dog bed, I imagine I can now take them up and leave them in my office instead." – Christian Rasmussen
If you'd like to give your dog more space and peace of mind, whether at work or at home, try our new dog bed Siccaro X Fossflakes. With the soft FlexDog drying mat at the bottom and the supportive cushions of the Fossflakes bed, this is the ultimate dog bed for optimal comfort and functionality.
